AUSTIN, TEXAS (April 15, 2015). Green Source Holdings (“GSH”) announced today the launch of Octavo Systems LLC (“Octavo”), a wholly-owned subsidiary of GSH. Octavo uses innovative technology and cutting edge design to advance the incorporation of systems in package (“SIPs”) designs. The newly designed SIPs will give size reductions along with other improvements that allow for flexibility and enhanced functionality, thereby opening the door for smaller system footprints and for portable implementations. GSH has been working in a strategic alliance with Octavo’s founders since late 2014 and agreed to acquire the business to add to its portfolio of IP-focused, resource efficiency companies.
The new SIPs will be marketed under the brand name 8vo-1 and will provide a variety of new tools and functionality to system design engineers that until now were available only to large corporations. Octavo is focused on developing the mid-tier system design engineering market that wants the expanded customization and functionality of a chip designed with their needs in mind. The 8vo-1 is the first SIP provider to gives systems engineers the performance and versatility that has been missing in the small to mid-sized company arena.
